Comedy Cafe 2020

AUBURN, Ala.---East Alabama Youth for Christ held its 6th Comedy Café on Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10 at First Baptist Church of Opelika. More than 250 guests attended to see the show and to learn about the mission and ministry of EAYFC. Staff, volunteers, and youth members shared testimonies before Comedian Mike Goodwin took the stage.

Sponsors for the event included Allen & Priscilla Blythe, Toni Holt & Ross House Coffee, J. Roarke Plumbing Co., Auburn University Club, Craftmaster Printers, Inc., and 32 table hosts.

The event raised more than expected funding, helped secure monthly partners, and attracted new volunteers for the ministry.

Tabitha Vasilas, Executive Director of East Alabama YFC, was pleased with the crowd and amount of support that resulted from both nights despite the obstacles due to COVID-19.

“EAYFC is a faith-based, non-profit organization that relies upon the generosity of others to fulfill our mission. We are incredibly grateful for those who express their kindness toward the ministry and compassion for the youth through their giving,” said Vasilas. “All contributions will enable us to reach more youth for Christ throughout East Alabama. Without financial partners, this work would not be possible. We are blown away by the turnout and success of this year’s event in light of the ongoing pandemic challenges and concerns. We would like to thank all those who attended, supported, and served. We look forward to further engaging the community in the days ahead.”
